Meet some of our staff!
My history at Scottsville began when I was born into a Scottsville family. The faith formation of my childhood and youth were spent in this church. After Lebanon Valley College, Princeton Theological Seminary, church pastorates in Lancaster County, and almost 20 years on the Conference Staff in West Virginia, I was thrilled to come back to be pastor of my home Church, bringing with me my wife, Patsy, our daughter Erin and her husband JT. Rounding out our family are two more children, their spouses and 5 grandchildren who live outside this area.
I have been a member of this church for many years. Serving on numerous committees over the years has given me a better understanding of the workings of the church. This knowledge has been priceless in the office. My position has also granted me the opportunity of getting to know my church family on a more personal level. God is not only good, he is great… never in my life did I think or feel that I would find a position in the work force that was so rewarding… where I am loved and made to feel that I make a difference.
My goal is to encourage others to find and use their gifts of praise through the various avenues of music.
Our Music Ministry:
Chancel Choir
Coming together to share God's message.
Bell Choir
Making a joyful noise!
Children's Program
Teaching children God's love through story and music.
Special Music (vocal or instrumental)
Sharing testimony through a song's message.
Psalms 89 - "Your love, God, is my song! I will sing it forever!"
As church organist, I count it a privilege to have been led to serve at Scottsville. My love for the organ goes back to my late teen years when, instead of buying the “first car”…. I bought an organ! As I play each week, my prayer is that the music will touch someone’s heart in a special way and be a blessing to all.
As Maintenance Director at Scottsville, my responsibilities are to maintain our church, our Pre-School, and parsonage by doing minor carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and painting repairs throughout all buildings. I have been in this position for the past 5 years doing the work and especially enjoy doing special projects around the Church to "enhance" the appearance of our Church for the congregation and for any visitors.
As Lay Leader, I am a servant of the congregation and work with the congregation and Pastor to fulfill our mission and vision statements. As such, I serve on the Finance Committee, the Staff-Parish Relations Committee, the Administrative Council. I am Chair of the Spiritual Formation Council as well as support other church ministries.
